Hi! I’m R. Katharine Nisson —
but please call me Kat!
After 25+ years of building communities and empowering professionals, I’ve learned that the most powerful transformations happen when people feel truly seen, heard, and supported. That’s why everything I do centers on creating authentic connections—whether I’m designing a digital community for a thought leader or crafting career strategies for someone ready to step into their next chapter.
My Journey
My path began in public libraries, where I spent over two decades serving diverse communities and leading teams through complex initiatives. Those years taught me how to translate big visions into practical realities while ensuring everyone felt welcome and valued. It’s where I discovered my passion for helping people access the resources and support they need to thrive.
Today, I combine that community-building foundation with my expertise in digital strategy and content creation. I hold degrees in English Literature, Communication, and Library Science, plus certification as a Professional Career Coach (CPCC) through PARWCC. But honestly? My real education came from working with thousands of individuals from all walks of life—each teaching me something new about resilience, potential, and the power of the right support at the right moment.
What Drives Me
I’m particularly passionate about supporting neurodivergent professionals and anyone who’s faced workplace challenges or trauma. The job search and career advancement process can feel overwhelming, especially when traditional approaches don’t account for different thinking styles or past experiences. I believe everyone deserves strategies that honor their unique strengths and circumstances.
Whether I’m building an online community using platforms like Mighty Networks and Kajabi, creating compelling content that resonates across diverse audiences, or helping someone craft career materials that truly represent their value—my goal is always the same: to build bridges between where you are and where you want to be.
